Beef and Mushroom Skillet
This beef and mushroom skillet meal is easy to put together, turns out delicious and hearty. It preps fast, and cooks easy and is delicious as well! If you are looking for a tasty easy dinner, this one could be it!
I do love easy to cook meals. I enjoy cooking, but sometimes after a hard day you just really need something simple. This one is easy to prep and then very low maintenance to let it simmer until done.
Mushrooms are a fun food! They are tasty, good for you and dress up any dish. That’s one reason why I love this particular recipe. I used your standard white mushrooms and some nice chuck roast to prepare this one.
What You Will Need:
As I just said, I used a chuck roast because that’s what I had on hand. I tend to buy in bulk at a restaurant supply store and cut meats down to size when I get home. The whole chuck roll is cost effective and can easily be made into steaks, roasts, stew meat or even ground up for burgers.
To get started, slice your choice of beef into strips and chop up your mushrooms, onion, and garlic. Lightly coat the beef in flour and saute in oil for a few minutes. Add Garlic and onions once beef is browned and stir until fragrant. Next pour in beef broth and add mushrooms and seasonings.
Once everything is added to the skillet, bring to a boil then reduce the heat and let it simmer. This should take about an hour to an hour and a half for the meat to become tender. This will depend on what cut of beef you started with of course. Come back as stir it once in a while to prevent it from sticking.
Once you are finished you can spoon it over some white rice to finish it off. Squash of all types makes a nice companion for this dish. I do like green vegetables to add some color to a plate, so broccoli, asparagus, green beans, or zucchini finish off this meal.
