Fried Rice Made Easy

Fried Rice Made Easy

Fried rice made Easy is what this is all about! It’s so easy, you can make it every day in fact. Easy on a budget in these hard times too! Made from what most people have on hand in the pantry, it really is a treat.

A one-pound bag of rice runs 88 cents, and some mixed vegetables cost about $1.25. If you don’t have Soy sauce on hand, well those run from $2.80 to $3.00 for a 10 oz bottle. This means that for about five dollars, you can easily make this dish twice!

I like budget friendly. I like tasty. If you can do it this easy, I’m all for it! Dress up those bland cheap sides for more excitement and kreativity in the kitchen.

Making it Easy

This is seriously the easiest way to make fried rice. It tastes better and is cheaper than frozen versions too! I was never really interested in owning a rice cooker, until I got one. Now I can’t see doing anything the hard way again.

This dish is simple, combine all of the ingredients except the egg into the machine and let it cook. When the time is almost up, add in the egg and stir well. Close the lid and let it finish cooking.

That’s all there is to it! You are ready to enjoy a fresh, homemade side dish. Better yet, it’s not loaded down with excess salt and preservatives either.

Alternatives in Preparation

Fresh vegetables may be substituted for frozen but chopped finely to cook in the time frame. You could kick it up a notch and go for a fancier mix of vegetables as well. All are equally budget friendly, so experiment and find what you like.

If you are salt conscience, it’s fine to use low sodium soy sauce. Liquid aminos can be substituted for a gluten free, non-GMO option as well.

Brown rice is a more nutrient dense food when compared to white rice. You can use brown rice instead of white rice if you desire. When making this adjustment, set the rice cooker to brown rice instead of white rice and follow the remaining directions.

To add the actual “fried” component, let it finish cooking without adding the egg. Add 2 Tbsp vegetable to a skillet and let it get hot, Transfer the rice to the pan and sear it while stirring. Add in your egg once the rice is browned to your liking.
